The Contemplative Centre is a place sensitive to its physical and invisible environment, designed as a reflective institute for meditation in London. The architectural phenomenology of the place is thought out from the conception of the spaces, which interact with light, sound, textures and smells. Inspired by the design of the tombs in Saint George’s Gardens, the raw concrete forms create gently moving masses that interact with the body, and therefore with the mind.
