Located in front of the Royal Palace and Gwanghwamun, in the heart of Seoul, the challenge is to succeed in transforming a space scarred by History to restore the capital of the Republic of Korea to its former glory. The design extends Gwanghwamun Square from East to West, surrounding it with stepped esplanades and lawns, granting it a new status as an urban amphitheater adapted to many uses: cultural, playful, ceremonial, sports, and political.
